Re: What's the best part of being a Jew on Christmas?
Tue, December 25, 2007 - 8:08 PMLow expectations, therefore no disappointment.
And it's a day when *other* people have to go be nice to obnoxious relatives they avoid all the rest of the year. -

Re: What's the best part of being a Jew on Christmas?
Tue, December 25, 2007 - 8:12 PMYes Max! I agree.I LOVE christmas because I get all the sparkly good excitement without any of the obligations to spend money (we dont gift for hannukay) or be a good daughter/sister/friend.
And of course, there's the movies and chinese food.
Though last night we went to the unkosher kosher-style Carnegie Deli and it was packed.

Re: What's the best part of being a Jew on Christmas?
Tue, December 25, 2007 - 10:19 PMI like Christmas eve better.
I enjoyed the fact that all my shoppping was done, while everyone was scurrying around yesterday.
today was annoying because all the stores are closed! All I wanted was a video and something sweet :-(

Re: What's the best part of being a Jew on Christmas?
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 7:01 AMThat it's an excuse to go out with a bunch of Jews for Chinese food and a movie, and we have no problem seating our large ad hoc group together?
(is there a colorful Hebrew/Yiddish/Ladino word to use in place of the Latin "ad hoc?" "Mish-mosh" is the best I can come up with.) -
